Treatment Options for the Elbow
Elbow Surgery in Frisco, TX
Experiencing elbow pain and not sure what to do? There are many possibilities for treatment, depending on what kind of elbow injury you may have. Performance Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is here to diagnose your ailments and help you recover from your injuries.
Our highly skilled staff will set short- and long-term goals for your rehabilitation. However, some elbow injuries are more complex than others. In these cases, physicians may recommend surgical procedures to help you regain movement and return to your healthy, active lifestyle.
Conditions that May Require Surgery
Complex Elbow Dislocations – Surgery may be recommended if bones need re-aligning (which can be very difficult) or damaged ligaments need repairing.
Olecranon Fractures – Surgery may be necessary when there is an open or displaced fracture.
Osteoarthritis – We would recommend this surgery only if there has been significant wear or damage to the joint surfaces and after nonsurgical methods have failed. Arthroscopy can be minimally invasive
Total Elbow Replacement or Arthroplasty – uses metal replacement/implant stems connected by a hinge pin or metal locking pins.
